[USA]: As reported by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a new tool that allows LGBTQ+ families to compare health plans based on whether or not they cover same-sex partners.
So, here is how it works. Go to www.healthcare.gov and click on the tab to “Find Insurance Options.” Input the necessary information, such as your state of residence, age, and general medical needs. When the search option reveals available plans, the toolbar on the left side allows you to narrow the plan options by a variety of factors, including same-sex coverage and domestic partner coverage.
Once you narrow your results by same-sex coverage, shop for the plan that best fits the needs of you and your family. It’s as simple as that.
