Rose By Any Other Name

The web series "Rose By Any Other Name..." is based on Kyle Schickner's first film by the same title. The series follows the main character - Rose - as she tries to come to terms with her feelings for Anthony.

She has to navigate the reaction of her friends (they aren't thrilled) and her family (they are). The series, which is a comedy, deals with the many issues and stereotypes that face bisexuals. Each week, a new episode will debut.

Rose is a web series all about modern life, love and manners in which a comfortably out and proud woman who identifies as Lesbian and a nice progressive straight man serendipitously meet and then unexpectedly find themselves falling for each other. Many complications abound and confusion, hilarity (& some angst) and thoughtfulness ensue as our intrepid and very human protagonists navigate Life In These Times.

Schickner formed FenceSitter Films in 1995 and immediately started production on "Rose By Any Other Name..." which was based on Schickner's successful play. FenceSitter Films was "founded on the belief that films don't need straight white men as heroes in order to be successful and entertaining." Schickner has said , "I wanted to make films a person of color, a woman, or a bisexual person would enjoy watching."

Episodes:

Episode 1: "A pair of star-cross'd lovers"

Debut of the web series about a lesbian who falls in love with a man and has to deal with coming out all over again.

Episode 2: "And thou art wedded to calamity"

Rose and Anthony continue ask their best friends for a favor...

Episode 3: "Enter The Friends"

Rose and Anthony's friends find out.

Episode 4: "Thy head is as full of quarrels . . ."

Rose and Anthony find their friends trying to "help". But with friends like these, well you all know the rest . . .

Episode 5: "O! I am Fortune's fool"

in which Rose and Anthony get some very bad advice...

Episode 6: "We have a trifling foolish banquet towards"

"The Date! Chapter 2" begins with Anthony and Rose having second (and third) thoughts as they get ready for their first date. Their friends Veronica and Chris do their best to keep them on track.

Episode 7: "If thou think'st I am too quickly won"

Rose and Anthony finally meet, but has all the "help" from their friends caused them to second guess their date? Meanwhile, Holly tries to distract Jo from the date the best way she knows how.

Episode 8: "Lovers can see to do their amorous rites"

Rose invites Anthony back to her house after the concert. Meanwhile, Jo gets distracted from her mission to disrupt Rose's date.

Episode 9: "Wilt thou be gone?"

Our star crossed lovers have kissed, but will the misinformation Anthony got from his friends put an end to their romance before it gets started? Meanwhile Veronica and Chris disagree on their idea for a fun evening out.

Episode 10: "A plague o' both your houses!"

Rose and Anthony's friends try and piece together what when wrong when things were looking so good.
